Power Design proudly supports individuals of all identities within and outside of our #PDIFamily. So this June, in honor of Pride Month, we celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community by sharing educational resources, sponsoring Florida’s largest Pride event, donating to charities that create positive change, and raising awareness on our campus!
We offered our teams a virtual visit to the Smithsonian to learn more about the 1969 Stonewall uprising, which served as a global catalyst for the gay rights movement. A list of LGBTQIA+ owned and operated restaurants and Spotifty’s Pride playlist were also shared to help spread awareness virtually.
In the community, Power Design sponsored and volunteered with St. Pete Pride (Florida’s largest LGBT Pride Celebration!) with a mission to promote unity, visibility, self-esteem and a positive image of and among the LGBTQIA+ community. The organization hosted four themed weeks to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, ranging from ‘Pride OUTside’ to ‘Arts + Qulture’ and more.
At the GRID, we distributed Pride progress flags for employees to display at their desks, offered pride bracelets, hosted live music performances featuring our favorite Pride anthems and icons, sold #PDIPride t-shirts and matched RAVE donations with all proceeds going to The Trevor Project and GLAAD!
We encourage everyone to continue expanding your understanding with some additional resources listed below, and are proud to have supported Pride all month long!
