    About the Position

    Ready to put the pedal to the metal? If you’re a sheet metal pro with a knack for efficiency, organization, and collaboration, then we have the perfect opportunity for you at our distribution center! We’re looking for someone to set up our brand-new sheet metal shop and oversee all aspects of the fabrication process.

    This role involves ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and coordinating with other departments to meet production targets and delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sheet metal fabrication, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities to fulfill customer orders and deadlines
    • Optimize processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction while staying updated on industry trends.
    • Implement and maintain quality control standards by ensuring all fabricated parts meet the requirements
    • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations
    • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff
    • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of the Fabrication Team
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment, addressing any personnel issues promptly
    • Manage inventory of materials, tools, and equipment by working with the Purchasing Team to maintain adequate stock levels and ensure timely procurement
    • Collaborate effectively with other departments such as Design, Engineering, and Sales to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality control, and maintenance to prepare regular reports on production performance and other relevant metrics

    Here’s What We’re Looking For

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
    • Minimum of five years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, with at least three years in a managerial or supervisory role
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files
    • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, machinery, and tools
    • Ability to lead and manage a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment
    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (possible exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures) and lift materials and equipment as required
    • Certification in welding, machining, or other relevant trades preferred
    • Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred
    • Familiarity with production management software preferred
