    About the Position

    The Legal Compliance Coordinator is responsible for providing clerical and organizational support to the Legal Department by ensuring the company and its vendors follow established contracts, policies, laws, procedures and applicable regulations.  This will include compliance with applicable governmental regulations, prevailing wages, local hiring, small/disadvantaged business participation, and other contractual requirements.  

    Position Details/Responsibilities

    • Develop compliance plans for projects with special requirements and conduct training to educate project teams on their roles and responsibilities.
    • Ensure vendors are aware of and complying with special project requirements by developing compliance riders to vendor agreements and conducting training to educate vendors on their roles and responsibilities.
    • Monitor and audit prevailing wage certified payroll reports and ensure that they are properly filled out and submitted timely. Manage the resolution of issues when they arise. 
    • Develop small/disadvantaged business participation plans in cooperation with the Estimating and Procurement Departments and then assist in managing and tracking key deliverables.
    • Review local workforce hiring and small/disadvantaged business participation requirements and provide an executive summary highlighting critical points, associated risks, and best opportunities for the company to meet or exceed the established goals.
    • Conduct internal compliance and/or operational reviews through the implementation of an approved monitoring program according to inherent risk factors and analysis of results. 
    • Review data to detect deficient controls, duplicated efforts, and non-compliance with laws, regulations, management policies or any provision contained in vendor agreements.
    • Examine payroll records, operations, reports, organization structures, and controls of vendors.
    • Investigate and define problem areas, formulate questions and prepare information that identifies problems encountered during monitoring engagements.
    • Assist with contract negotiation and execution.
    • Research special contract requirements and lend interpretation, and follow up in a timely manner with management on contract compliance issues.
    • Prepare reports for management summarizing work performed, findings, and recommended courses of action to improve/resolve deficiencies and all areas of non-compliance.
    • Receive and protect confidential information from all sources concerning compliance situations.

    Here's What We're Looking For

    • 3-5 years of relevant legal compliance work experience.
    • Proven track record reviewing compliance-related forms to ensure accuracy, identifying and rapidly understanding compliance requirements, and effectively communicating across levels.
    • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
    • Technical proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and Adobe. 
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Strong critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
