First ever Snuggle Delivery in Tampa Bay:
Power Design partnered with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to present “Snuggle Delivery”; a first of-its-kind event that gave employees a very special break in their work day and some very lucky pets a new home. Interest sparked when the Humane Society of Broward County announced that in exchange for a donation, they would bring select, adoptable pets to local workplaces for a “snuggle break” for a few hours during the day.
With nearly 400 office employees in need of some mid-day love, Power Design reached out to Humane Society of Tampa Bay to see if a similar event could be hosted at their corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg. After weeks of logistical planning and scheduling, a date was decided upon and 18 lucky animals were selected to make the trek to meet their future families.
The first half of the day was reserved for “snugglers”; employees who wanted to cuddle or play with the pets, but were not in the position to adopt. Lines of people filled the halls, anxious to get their puppy or kitty fix. The second half of the day was then meant for adopters who were in the market to bring home a new family member. At the end of the day, 16 out of 18 pets had been adopted. SPCA volunteers were waiting nearby to help with paperwork and send each animal home with a care package.
