National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is here and we’re kicking it off by showcasing two key players in our #PDIFamily who help make a difference in the lives of our apprentices every day! Get to know Ron and Jayme!
About Jayme, career development specialist
This Lincoln, NE native has been with Power Design for 4 years (2 years on the events team and 2 years on our training and development team supporting our apprentices!). She is Power Design’s apprenticeship resource dedicated to delivering a plusONE employee experience! She supports all aspects of the students’ education lifecycle including enrollment, compliance, and successful completion of each school year. Additionally, she builds and manages our external apprenticeship partner relations.
Fun fact: when she started her role in October 2017, Jayme supported 80 apprentices. Today, she supports 300+ apprentices nationwide. Talk about #growth!
About Ron, electrical apprentice instructor
Ron hails from Uxbridge, MA (a town outside of Boston) and has been in the trade for over 20 years with experience in commercial and industrial construction, as well as power plants. He joined the Power Design team in July 2019, bringing extensive knowledge of apprentice training needs with him. Ron is responsible for designing and managing all apprenticeship training content, conducting onsite and virtual training courses, and monitoring apprentice performance to ensure their success.
Fun fact: Two of the students from our inaugural PowerU apprenticeship class worked on the FUSE, the newest building on the GRID (our campus).
