For the second year in a row, Power Design was a Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties sponsor. This year, in addition to sponsoring, we also had the opportunity to work on a house in Pinellas county! In February, our CFO, Heather Ford, led a group of 10 PDI female volunteers in a Women’s Build where they spent the day priming the outside of Lakesha Munn’s future home.
Not expecting homeowner Lakesha to participate in the Women’s Build that day, the team was pleasantly surprised by her visit during the last hour. When Lakesha arrived, she grabbed a paint brush, and dove right in! While the ladies may have been covered in paint by the end of the day, the tight hugs and sincere “thank yous” from Lakesha made every paint splatter worth it.
This same group of Power Design women were invited to attend the Home Dedication at the end of March where they got the special opportunity to reconnect with Lakesha and see her finished home!
