Insights From Our Inaugural Builder Summit 💥

At Power Design, we're built on more than just multi-trade solutions—we’re committed to building and maintaining strong industry relationships, fostering innovation, and providing solutions to navigate the ever-changing construction landscape. Last week, we hosted our first-ever Builder Summit at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, welcoming 20+  leading general contractors to our headquarters for a deep dive into the state of the industry.

As we’re looking ahead at the unknowns of what’s to come for the industry with changing legislation—tariff uncertainties, labor shortages, and supply chain disruptions—collaboration has never been more critical, with both our people and our partners. By putting an emphasis on staying ahead of industry changes and updates, it allows for effective project management and planning and to keep projects on time and on budget.

    Upcoming challenges? We'll conquer them:

    Workforce and Material Challenges

Our conversations dove into the daily realities of managing a tight labor market and the rising costs of materials. By prioritizing early engagement with our partners, and leveraging our a la carte services, we are uniquely positioned to provide flexible, value-driven solutions.

    Data Center Demand

With the new administration’s focus on AI compliance and infrastructure, upcoming changes aim to advance technology and safety but will drive demand for construction materials, skilled labor, and critical components like switchgear to support these advancements. This increased competition is expected to raise costs and tighten supply chains across the industry.

    Risk Mitigation through Innovation

With our state-of-the-art prefabrication and distribution facilities, Power Design not only minimizes risk but also sets new industry standards for quality and efficiency. See how we’re expanding our offerings in our own backyard with our newest facility.

Embracing Technology for Enhanced Project Management

Our in-house applications, such as The Hub and BPM, streamline every aspect of project management—from bid processing to essential project information like materials, project teams, and finances.

    What’s on the horizon?

We're committed to developing top-tier talent both now, and for the generations to come as we see shifts in the industry, take a look at how we prioritize training and development of our team members, and how that sets us apart:

    Early Involvement
Engaging partners and stakeholders early in the project lifecycle to anticipate and address challenges before they become obstacles allows us to be proactive to what's to come and gives us the ability to engage with manufacturers, suppliers, and other partners' before issues arise.
    Talent Development
Investing in our people, nurturing talent, and fostering an environment where innovation thrives. From introducing our training and development space CAMP, to continuous learning through our Learning & Development teams, our boots on the ground are set up for success on the job site by staying up to date on best practices.
    Prioritizing Apprenticeship
Not only are we excited to announce our first-ever mechanical apprenticeship class, but our apprentice program as a whole! This four-year apprentice program teaches the future generation the importance of learning and tending to their trademeet some of our apprentices and hear from them how this experience is setting them up for a successful career in the trades.

Prioritizing our people and rewarding them for their hard work and dedication is part of what sets Power Design apart. From collaboration on the job site, to our teamwork at headquarters, it’s really our #PDIFamily that makes us who we are.

As we look on the success of our first Builder Summit, we are excited by the collective conversations and ideas shared by our partners. The strategies discussed will pave the way for safer, more cost-effective, and innovative construction practices.
