Grit, Grace, and Goals: Women Leading Construction

Written by Power Design | Mar 7, 2025 9:36:14 PM

This past week, Power Design proudly celebrated Women in Construction Week, shining the spotlight on the talented and driven women shaping the future of our industry.

Interested in what being a Woman in Construction means to just a few of our Women in Construction? See for yourself ⬇️

From women’s led builds at Habitat for Humanity in our local community to celebrate our #WIC from coast-to-coast, take a look at our key takeaways from this week and share a special shoutout to just a few of our rockstar ladies who are helping to break industry barriers, and encouraging others to join them.

As we celebrate these women for fostering diversity and inclusion, we hosted a powerful networking panel and happy hour, where women leaders and executives shared their insights, experiences, and strategies for success in a historically male-dominated field. The theme of this networking panel? Grit and grace – two things that are key to making your mark as a Woman in Construction. Take a look at a few takeaways from our panelists ⬇️

Meet Our Panelists: With over 75 years of combined experience, these ladies are also members of our Women’s Leadership Council and are actively involved in both the industry and giving back to our communities in more ways than one.

  • Lauren Permuy, Chief Growth Officer
  • Stephanie Morge, Director of Learning and Development
  • Nelzay Rivas Pulgar, Vice President of Construction Operations
  • Heather Ford, Chief Financial Officer

Our #PDIFamily submitted questions prior to the panel for our panelist to provide valuable guidance to help support and encourage them throughout their career – including work-life balance, standing out in a male-dominated industry, and finding confidence in using your voice. They also emphasized the importance of mentorship and the impact it can have on career growth and professional development.

As #WICWeek2025 comes to a close, we’re encouraging all women in the industry—whether career-long professionals or those considering a career in construction—to keep pushing boundaries, seeking opportunities, and lifting each other up. Together, we are not only shaping the future of Power Design but also making a lasting impact on the construction industry as a whole.
