From Blueprints to Kickoff: Doak Campbell Stadium

Written by Power Design | Mar 17, 2025 3:56:21 PM

Game. On.

Have you heard? We’re making our mark in the sports and entertainment industry, and our latest project proves just that. We’re proud to be working alongside Manhattan Culpepper on the complete renovation of the west side of Doak Campbell Stadium at Florida State University—an iconic venue home to one of college football’s most passionate fanbases. With this transformation, we’re helping to deliver an elevated game-day experience just in time for kickoff.

“I’ve been to a couple of games, and this stadium is full of life — the tradition of FSU will bring so much to the community, and the attention to detail will elevate the fan experience.”
Ray Calliotte | Project Superintendent | Power Design

Our #PDIFamily is leveling up their skill set to adapt to the challenges we see in stadium projects of this size. When it comes to these large-scale, complex projects, our expertise in the multi-family high-rise and other market sectors, such as health care and data centers, has given us the tools and skills to tackle a stadium with no hesitation.

That’s why Power Design was chosen as the premier trade partner on this project by Manhattan-Culpepper! We’ve proven ourselves time after time, project after project, which gave our partners the confidence and trust in us to bring this project to life. With any project, no matter the size, challenges are subject to arise, right? Well, being in an area where there is not a high amount of projects, we were facing material challenges. From calling local mom-and-pop shops to reaching out to quality suppliers, we were able to get ahead of these challenges thanks to our pre-coordination and planning.

We sat down with our project team and our friends at Manhattan Construction to get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to bring a stadium renovation to life. Check it out ⬇️

While challenges arise, solutions are right behind them. Thanks to Power Design Resources, we were able to value engineer a lighting package that returned an immense amount of cost savings to the owner of the project. This is just a piece of what makes Power Design so unique — with so many resources in our back pocket, we work with all of our teams to ensure a seamless project delivery for our partners, from concept to completion.

“I want to give a lot of props to Power Design and their value engineering option to get all the lighting for the project through Power Design Resources, ultimately saving the owner and Seminole Boosters money throughout the process.”
Robert Hogan | Project Manager | Manhattan Construction

This stadium renovation means a bit extra to our #PDIFamily with more than 20+ Florida State Alumni, including our project engineer on the stadium renovation – Jacob Owens.

“I grew up coming to so many Florida State games right here in this stadium, and to now work on this renovation, it’s really a full circle ordeal and I’m passionate about this project.”
Jacob Owens | Project Engineer | Power Design
