At Power Design, we pride ourselves on putting our people first and celebrating their diversity this week and every week ahead. During Construction Inclusion Week, we’re joining forces with industry partners and driving innovation across the industry in more ways than one: specifically, we’re speaking up and out on the importance of inclusion on and off the job site. Power Design is committed to raising awareness and fostering important conversations that make a difference and create an inclusive, safe, and collaborative environment for our #PDIFamily. Learn how we celebrated a #CultureOfCare during this year's Construction Inclusion Week:
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is an employee-focused group that operates through our employees, for our employees. Through group meetings, training, and more, we’re supporting our diverse culture and learn how to enhance our culture. Enhancing our culture is possible through Power Design's DEI Committee and their dedication to accomplishing three objectives: providing allyship and advocacy, encouraging education, celebration, and connection, and lastly, promoting equitable practices in hiring, development, and advancement.
At Power Design, we promote and celebrate our people sharing their passions, beliefs, and opinions. We ensure that every team member can find a group or initiative that matters to them. From walking at local pride parades to team building competitions at Corporate SportsFest, finding friends through co-workers is a piece of what makes our #PDIFamily even more special.
We're committed to working with local vendors in different markets from coast-to-coast. "Partnering with companies prioritizing community welfare aligns with our values and strengthens our business," said Senior Procurement Project Executive Conner Kuehn. From supporting small, minority-owned businesses such as women-owned, veteran-owned, and more, we’re leaving our mark in local communities through our different material vendors and suppliers.
The family-first motto is one we stand by. "Power Design cares about the well-being of our team members, and we understand that people drive success," said Wellness Manager Shelly Scamardo. Creating a family atmosphere creates more productivity, trust, and encouragement throughout the workplace. From job sites to headquarters, you know your #PDIFamily has your back.
Power Design is touching the communities where we live and work through Project V5 — an initiative that supports the charities that our people are passionate about. From impacting the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles to lighting a spark in the next generation by partnering with Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay and exposing high schoolers to the trades, Power Design is actively involved in diverse causes that support our people.
We couldn’t do what we do without our people — hear more from our Chief People & Culture Officer about what Construction Inclusion Week means to all of us.
