A special field trip to Power Design provided students at Buchanan Middle School an introduction to all things electrical. With the trades becoming a more popular and profitable career path, early exposure to the construction field can help students broaden their horizons and spark an interest in something new.
Students spent 4 hours at the PDI campus and were broken into 3 learning groups. Topics included Electric 101, Electric Installation & Electrical Units, accompanied by lunch and of course some play time on the Sport Court. Facilitated by the PDI Operations Training Department, employees as as well as students enjoyed a change in the average work day. Activities included work with legos, computer interactivity, and hands-on training with a mock deck and units.
