Our Chief Information Officer, Raghu Kutty, recently accepted the prestigious Digital Edge 50 and CIO 100 awards for mobile/smart device innovation on behalf of his IT department who created a new, ground-breaking mobile application called CrewConnect. Several groups within PDI came together to make this app the success it is today, making CrewConnect the first mobile app of its kind in the construction industry, utilizing facial recognition on the jobsite to quickly and accurately match crew members with their profiles in the app, maintain a daily roster of who is on our job sites, and increase productivity through an awesome rewards system.
This digital initiative increases efficiency, helping our teams get ramped up and working faster every day. The crew profiles also store information about the crew’s job-related strengths and capabilities. When they move to a new job site, there’s a meaningful record of their skills, which helps field employees organize their work and place teams in a position to succeed.
Plus, the app helps extend our award-winning culture to our jobsites around the country. It allows field employees to recognize and reward points to their crews. These points can then be redeemed for awesome rewards, like brand new tools and gear. We’ve given out 1,500 rewards, totaling $60,000, so far!
