‘Tis the season for holiday fun, but this year we added a twist: a magical trip on the Power Design Polar Express. More than 1,700 members of our #PDIFamily and their families hit the GRID to celebrate the season with hot cocoa, ice skating, Santa, and more — but to board the train, we asked our people for something in return.
Entry onto the Power Design Polar Express required more than your average ticket, it was our chance to bring the holiday spirit to the patients and families at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
Our teams and their families dropped off more than 600 toys to be donated to Johns Hopkins’ All Kids Wonderland: an event where families could shop for their child (JHACH patient) and their siblings — all to make their spirits brighter this holiday season. We’re proud to share that Power Design was this year’s largest toy contributor and principle sponsor, positively impacting the affected families' sense of normalcy and joy around the holidays.
This year’s Jingle & Mingle event was about more than a toy drive — the week leading up to the All Kid’s event, leaders at Power Design gathered their teams to help set up the Wonderland shop experience. From sorting to wrapping toys, we saw the joys of the event from dropping off the donations to watching the smiling faces of families choose their gifts in the hospital.
We’re grateful for the partnership with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital so we can continue to spread joy from our people to our community. Catch the fun we had on the GRID celebrating the holidays.
There’s still time to bring a smile to the families for the holidays — you can send a gift directly to Johns Hopkins here.
