The Estates at Acqualina is one of Power Design’s most buzz-worthy projects; 2 luxury towers at 47 & 52 stories tall in the heart of Miami. Aside from over the top amenities and the highest of high-end units, design and installation is complex and unique, requiring a coordinated effort from all project teams.
During our design review we found that the mat slab could not accommodate the amount of conduit and wire specified and still maintain the structural integrity of the building. So Power Design’s VDC and operations teams went to work to find an alternative solution.
This resulted in (4) 4000Amp aluminum busway risers in each of 2 cores. Our coordination team worked with the factory and the GC to plan a route we could build. We used our VDC team to place the design in the 3D model of the project to eliminate any coordination issues with the other trades. Our installation teams received and built the busway based on our design. The results speak for themselves – and here’s what a major busduct system looks like!
