Power Design has been part of the Tampa Bay area community for more than 31 years, offering MEPS design and construction from coast-to-coast. Headquartered in St. Petersburg, Power Design’s decision to relocate its distribution center and prefabrication facility to this new building in nearby Manatee County consolidates its support operations.
Our existing facility has been located in Atlanta, GA for more than 15 years, distributing more than $55M in lighting fixtures annually, a volume that provides its customers with a competitive advantage on pricing and supply chain certainty. The new facility, at 208,000 SF, will be double the size of the current facility with 3x the available pallet positions, while still allowing 50,000 SF for it prefabrication operations. Power Design’s prefabrication operations leverages advanced planning and BIM technology to provide a variety of pre-built assemblies to its jobsites nationally, allowing for faster and more consistent installations, while reducing material handling and waste.
“Having one centralized campus here in Tampa Bay is central to Power Design’s collaborative culture. Being together fosters innovation, improves communication and encourages growth within our PDI family, so bringing our distribution center to Tampa Bay was an easy decision,” said CEO, Frank Musolino. “The ability to further develop a cutting-edge prefabrication facility under the same roof provides additional synergies that couldn’t be ignored.”
Construction officially broke ground in November of 2020 and is anticipated to complete in December of 2021.
“We are proud to be creating more than 80 new job opportunities in Manatee County as part of the relocation and expansion of our national support infrastructure and look forward to supporting the community, as we do wherever we live and work throughout the country,” said Musolino.
